Re-entering Writing
Back in the long, long ago, before I was a mother, before I was carrying the weight of providing a family on my shoulders, I wrote. A lot.
I traveled the world and wrote a book about all that I saw.
I wrote a book of poems about heartbreak.
I wrote blog posts and catalogs and a bazillion other things for creative projects with dear friends for over a decade.
I wrote. A lot.
Then I had my son - and I stopped writing. Not because I didn’t love it, but my brain could no longer formulate words.
All my energy was diverted into creating a healthy foundation for his life. It was worth every ounce of sacrifice. For those of you who know him, he’s a capable, buoyant, loving spirit who is going to change the world.
And now, he is big. Big enough that I am starting to feel the words percolating again.
I have started a series of children’s books with him, and I am working on a novel. I look forward to being able to share the finished results of this labor with you soon.
But for now, I want to say thank you. Thank you for all of you who have been here with me through all my phases of growth and loved me through them. Even when we don’t talk, I know you are there. And thank you. I love you. I hope that, even when we don’t talk, you know that I am there too.
As a side note: If you’d like to support me during this creation phase, you can purchase prints of some of my old artwork at the button below.
